osha citation abatement

Your Partner in OSHA Citation Abatement

Receiving an OSHA citation can be stressful and complicated, but you don’t have to navigate the process alone. E-ESCO will work directly with your company to evaluate the citation, develop a plan of action, and represent your interests throughout the resolution process. From requesting an informal conference and pursuing potential penalty reductions to filing appeals, negotiating settlements, and advising on proper abatement, we can help manage the process from start to finish. Once all citation items have been addressed, E-ESCO will assist with filing the necessary final documentation with OSHA to help close out the case and keep your company moving forward.

Our Process

Step one

Initial meeting about citation details and plan of action moving forward.

i

Step two

We request an informal conference with the OSHA Office Director to determine if a settlement can be reached out of court to reduce citation penalties.

step three

If a settlement can’t be reached in the informal conference, ESCO will appeal the citation with the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission to reach a settlement.

Step four

Once a settlement is reached, ESCO will advise your company on appropriate abatement of the citation items.

Step five

Once all items have been abated, ESCO will file the final report with OSHA to close out the case.

Faqs

Does ESCO's fees for citation abatement include the informal conference appeal, or would those be a separate fee?

ESCO’s fee for citation abatement includes all of the services listed on this page, including the informal conference, appeal, and abatement assistance.

how much does esco charge to handle an osha citation?

It depends on the details of the case, but typically $1,000-$3,000. That said, we often save our clients more in penalty fees than the cost of our services.

are there any benefits to esco's citation abatement services other than reduced penalties?

Yes, OSHA sets traps for companies that are not familiar with the citation process. This could open your company to legal liability and potentially massive penalties for future citations.
